Neil Peirce gives a great update on the growth of light rail right now in the United States.

I'm all for the purple line here in DC, and more trains everywhere, but I'm not a fan of "Light Rail" especially along the route suggested. It makes no sense. There's no way there's going to be frequent enough stations to justify something that slow.
