The whole next decade, beginning in less than six months, will be about the collapse of the Industrial Age and the building of the new Internet Age.
So as cars decline, so do all the other lifestyle and industries associated with it. Like, maybe, auto racing. Auto racing won't disappear. Next month we go see harness racing, a wonderful remnant of the Agrarian Age. But here's a sign:
The Milwaukee Mile, the oldest continuously operated auto race track in the country, is in danger of going out of business this year. NASCAR auto racing is also seeing declining revenues. Watch for more Industrial Age industries and pasttimes to fade.
Auto racing may go down a little but I doubt very much that it will ever go away. My wife's sister's husband is a fanatic for racing. I think that as long as his type of fans are around then racing will be also. I do agree that things are getting tough out there. Chin up, life is good.

Auto racing will live on, until the government kills it by mandating that the cars get 50+ MPG
