Over 2,000 people heard Nine Shift for 2011 in just one week last month.
In addition to 200 at an adult education conference in Tampa and over 1,500 at TEDxNASA in Virginia, another 300-400 Nine Shift fans stayed to the Closing Session of the big LERN conference in Chicago to hear an original new Nine Shift for 2011: The New Era Begins.
They also received our new special 12 page report with 90 predictions for the second decade of the 21st century.
This is our best fan group. They come every year. They hear a brand new Nine Shift each time. And they keep Nine Shift going with our research, predictions and blog posts. Photo: Jay Stockslader, left, and Greg Johnson, right, play Keystone Cops and arrest Draves in this year's Nine Shift skit.
Sorry I missed it. Always the best part of the conference.

Sounds like it was something to see. Being the nostalgia hound that I am, would have enjoyed that Keystone Kops skit.
How are you taking the new governor-elect, specifically his position on getting rid of that federal money for a new rail project? I know that has to be discouraging. How do you keep your spirits up in such circumstances?
How do you become effective under such conditions? I have to confess, I've been pretty much a failure at that here in West Virginia.

D.P, well you hit the nail on the head with our situation here in Wisconsin.
It is very discouraging, with Wisconsin about to give away its future, moving from first (well, fourth but that's pretty good) place in trains to last place (why would the feds take another chance on Wisconsin?).
On the other hand, nationally we still have trains and the train money will just go to another state. And Gen Y will move to where the trains are. So no net-loss nationally, and certainly no loss long term. Gen Y will still replace cars with trains. Just not here, not now.
Thanks for asking D.P. And thanks for your great comments on the blog, all NineShifters sure appreciate your contributions!
