Just musing on what the impact of a Romney Presidency would be on the Nine Shifts happening here in the 21st Century. What do you think?
1.People work from home.
No change. Telecommuting will keep growing.
2.Intranets replace offices.
No change. Business will continue to become web based.
3.Networks replace pyramids.
No change. Business will continue in this direction.
4.Trains replace cars.
Trains will be stopped dead in their tracks for 4 years. At least at the national level.
5.Dense communities replace suburbs.
No change. I know the Tea Party wants to turn back the clock, but they cannot on this one.
6.Rich get poorer.
Inequality gets even worse. Another set back for this century. Again, for just 4 years, but still...
7.Change in values.
Done deal. No turning back on this.
8.Half of all learning is online.
Already happened.
9.Education becomes web-based.
Well, the support for education definitely keeps going down under a Romney Presidency. But education keeps transitioning because the pressures from young people and technology and business move it forward.
