Gen Y went online and in a few days stopped bad legislation on intellectual property.
SOPA, the misleadingly named Stop Online Piracy Act, actually gave corporations huge gifts of ownership of words, images and other intellectual property that should be owned by the public and the public good.
The kids went online and stopped the proposed legislation in the United States Congress in just one week in January of 2012.
Gen Y is fighting to prevent corporations and other private entities from owning words, curriculum, images and other intellectual property that need to be shared.
Not just Gen Y: I'm a BB (baby boomer), and I signed online petitions, etc. against SOPA & PIPA.
