If you are in Wisconsin and near a TV on Thursday, November 8th, you might want to tune in to In Wisconsin from 7:00 to 7:30 that night.
The description just below tells that the TV show is trying to clarify the ATV question and explain the current question before the DNR.
Are our state forests big enough for everyone? The answer to that question has become a contentious debate as the DNR moves toward announcing a proposal to establish 62 miles of ATV trails in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. Currently, the DNR prohibits the use of ATV's within the NH-AL State Forest's 225 thousand acres in Vilas, Oneida and Iron Counties. The DNR created a stakeholder group to evaluate proposed routes for the trails. ATV enthusiasts anxiously await approval of the trails which would link existing trails in surrounding county forests. But reporter Art Hackett found that other area residents fear the area will become a Mecca for the vehicles, disrupting traditional activities such as hiking, bird watching and canoeing.
