One day this week, as we were driving down Hwy. P, we were stopped by a flock of good-sized wild turkeys, crossing the road and snacking along each ditch---19 of them, we counted. No camera in the car, of course! They didn't seem the least bit worried about ending up on someone's Thanksgiving table.
(I know I can accurately call a group of geese a "gaggle," but is it right to say a "flock" of turkeys?)
And, of course, it is gun season for deer, so those of us who usually walk outdoors here are mostly taking a week off. Lots of cars are parked along the roads, and lots of orange can be seen through the woods and in town.
If you bag a big buck, let us know and we will report it here.
