With maples and aspens just starting to change, I guess we should be enjoying these fall colors, instead of looking ahead to winter already.
But, our local weather guru Gail Speer forwarded this interesting link to me this week, predicting a snowier than average winter for the Pacific Northwest, stretching all across to Wisconsin.

Maybe our relatively rainy summer will lead to a winter with more snow, and continue the drought relief we have all been waiting for.
In other weather conversations, people have suggested that the warm temperatures of Lake Superior this summer---20 degrees warmer than usual---will make the big lake freeze more slowly, and contribute to more lake effect snow coming our way.
Personally, I would welcome a snowy winter, but as Flossie at the grocery store told John once when I was hoping for a big snow: "This girl needs to shovel more snow." So, probably not everyone wants the blizzards I think I want.
