My first brave daffodil withstood last night's heavy rain and even some hail. The phone woke us about 2:00 am, with the Vilas County emergency communication system informing us that big winds, rain and hail were headed our way.
John says the biggest storms must have gone around us, though, as we had nearly an hour with lots of lightning, but very little thunder was audible. Gail Speer reports that we got about 4/10ths of an inch of rain. That, along with the predicted high temp of 75 degrees today, should make everything quickly look green.
Plus, the first hummingbirds of the season are visiting our feeder this morning. And like many of you, we will get our pontoon boat into the water this week. Yea for spring!
