Thanks to Carl Watras for supplying us with this graph, showing the history of Carlin's water level since 2008, including the changes in the last year.
John and I have watched as the water has receded since we took the pier out of the water about 6 weeks ago. As you can see on this graph, the lake's water level was higher this spring, but has dropped now in the fall months.
Carl comments:
On this scale, the ordinary high-water mark (OHWM) is estimated to be 350 cm. So, going into 2012, the lake is 83 cm (33 inches) below the OHWM. The lake has risen 28 cm (11 inches) from the historic low in 2008.
If I understand Carl's comment correctly, at the lowest level in 2010, we were about 44 " below the ordinary high-water mark, and have come up one-quarter of that, or 11 inches. To attain the high-water mark once more, our lake would still need 33" more water.
The graph can be made a little larger by clicking on it----but so far, my fiddling around hasn't been able to make it much easier for you to read. The bottom dates range from 2008 to 2012, and the side numbers go from 240 cm to 300 cm.
We really appreciate Carl collecting this data, and charting it for our information.
