We full-time lake residents are mostly back home from Thanksgiving travels, happy to be at the lake again.
This morning, there's still no sign of ice, as the sun sparkles across the gentle waves on the lake.
Danny and Barbie LaPean, eyes wide open, spotted a loon still on the lake this morning. I guess there's no reason for him/her to start migrating, with all the open water still around.
And, the LaPeans also told about the number of deer waiting by their feeder for them to return home. One visitor is a doe that Danny had watched a couple of weeks ago, with a broken front leg. The doe has survived the hunters, both human and natural, and Danny says that now he sees that the leg has already begun to heal after two weeks. The doe will probably always be gimpy, but now seems to be getting around well.
