The March meetings for book club and men's breakfast are already coming up next Tuesday, the 5th. I know that February is a short month, but it seems to have flown by even more quickly than usual this year.
Our March book is Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon, and I've been hearing that readers are really touched by the story, which follows two disabled adults over decades. Men will breakfast, as usual, at Skyview, and the book club will meet at Carmen's, with Karen as our leader.
If you have time, here are a couple of good links: Lit Lovers Reading Guide, with some book reviews and good discussion questions.
Also, I liked a site from the Jewish Disability Awareness project. Page 3 of this site has Biblical quotations about humans made in God's image; page 4 has information about the history of institutions for the disabled in America; and page 5 has a different set of discussion questions. Maybe will give you something new to consider about the book.
Probably our March groups will be a little smaller than usual, but I know we all look forward to getting together.
