We had a frost warning overnight to welcome the first day of fall.
Today---the date of the autumn equinox---we have equal amounts of daylight and darkness. Plus, the sun rises and sets almost exactly in the east and the west, so we can mark those directions out our windows.
This weekend Manitowish Waters has been hosting their Colorama events. Although the fall colors aren't nearly at their peak yet, the trees are showing enough color to please leaf-peepers who have driven north just for that reason.
Happy fall, everyone! I hope you will have at least a couple of days here at the lake, to enjoy a Northwoods fall.
