I subscribe to a free daily email called "A Word A Day." I like reading this email each morning, with a vocabulary word, its definition, history, and a sentence showing its use in context. (It's free and easy to subscribe, if you'd be interested too.)
Each entry always includes a quote for the day, not usually connected to the vocabulary word.
The same day I wrote my post below about how the very cold weather may be beneficial, I received this quote:
"Compassion, in which all ethics must take root, can only attain its full breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures and does not limit itself to mankind."
Albert Schweitzer, philosopher, physician, musician, Nobel laureate (1875-1965)
Do you think I should feel guilty, given how cheerfully I wrote about the demise of emerald ash borers, gypsy moths, and ticks??
Not one bit!!!
