I was glad to receive the following information from Chuck Hayes. It seems to me we have been receiving more phone calls from people we don't know, so we will certainly call this number and register again. Thanks, Chuck.
The Vilas County Commission on Aging has announced some changes in the 'no-call list' procedures for Wisconsin residents. We no longer have to sign up every two years. It is now 'one and done' unless we change our phone number. Register your land line or cell phone number by calling 1-888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to register. (Two phones = two calls to register).
And, on an unrelated topic, Chuck is in the middle of a fire-storm with the ATV issue coming up again tomorrow night at the Vilas County Board meeting in Phelps at 6:30 pm. He and three other supervisors are sponsoring a resolution, requesting that a referendum on ATVs on county roads be held on the regular November election date.
This issue has become more and more contentious and angry, and I'm sure, creates great pressure for Chuck and the other supervisors. Whatever your views on ATVs, give a Chuck a pat on the back and a nod of thanks for working so hard to do the right thing for county residents.
