(This photo of blue flag iris was taken at the bog along Hwy P south of us. If you click to enlarge, you will see there are more than it appears at first.)
Many of us attended the Presque Isle annual meeting in May, and heard first-hand how much our Lions and Lioness Clubs give back to the community. I thought I could find my notes from that meeting, but I believe it was around $7000 which they raise and contribute annually to do good work in Presque Isle.
Chuck lets us know of two chances to be a part of the Lions' programming. Is anyone interested in getting together a group of Carlin people and enjoying the fish boil on June 24th? Let's talk, and decide on a time we could meet there for supper that evening.
1. The Lions Club will be sponsoring a 'Lake Superior whitefish boil' at the Community Center on Wednesday, June 24. We will be bringing the fish down from Bayfield the previous day to assure freshness. Tickets are $15, with all proceeds going back into the community for Lions projects. Call Chuck (686-7257) for details.
