Daylight time is gone; November is here.

 

 

Those of us here at the lake as November arrived were treated to a terrific sunrise on Monday morning.   Our guests were thrilled, and we all trooped outdoors to take photos.

 

 

 

 

 

As we turned around to head back into the house, we saw this rainbow displayed in the west in the early morning light.   I hope you can pick it out in this darkish photo.   I've never seen a rainbow at sunrise, and was pretty thrilled myself!

 

 

 

 

And, now another lovely sunrise this morning, to get us started on a warm, sunny, beautiful fall day.   Today's wasn't as bright, but was rosier and warmer.    We live in a spectacular place, don't we?

 

 

 

Dinner benefit on November 14---please respond

 

I planned to summarize the dinner invitation for the Carlin Lake outing on November 14th, but I discovered Danny's invitation had already explained it more succinctly than I could.    

He reports, on behalf of our social committee, that twelve people have already RSVP'd for this pleasant evening to benefit a good cause.   Here's a reminder to please reply ASAP if you are able to join Carlin friends for this good dinner.    Thanks to Danny and to the social committee for organizing a November outing!

 

The Carlin Lake Social Committee wishes to extend an invitation to all association members and their families to join with Presque Isle and surrounding communities in a Celebration of Veterans.

The event will be held at Camp Jorn, Red Feather Road, Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 14th, 2015. The menu consists of (chicken or pork with a wild mushroom sauce (YUM) or BBQ sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, dessert and coffee), wine will be available! Serving from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The Social Committee is hoping for a large turn out of Lake Association members and their families to show support for Veterans and the Wilderness Veterans Memorial Project which is to be constructed in Presque Isle.

We have spoken to a representative of the Memorial Project Committee (Janice from Northwoods Serenity) and was told tables could be set up to seat our group together for a 5:00 p.m. dinner and fellowship!

Please contact Danny LaPean at [email protected] or call 715-686-7143 to reserve your seat, please respond no later than November 2nd so the Memorial Project committee has sufficient time to plan seating!

 

Tickets:   Adults $20,  Veterans $15,  Children $10 (10 and under)
