I'll bet there's not a one of us who can't describe something either Danny or Barbie has done to help us out.
Have they picked up your mail for you when you couldn't? Have they kept an eye on your house and yard when you have been away? Have they helped you move stuff? Have they walked your dog or kitty-sat for you? Has Danny helped move gravel to repair everyone's road?
Has Danny ever come over to help you figure out a computer problem? Has he sent an email that made you laugh? Has Barbie prepared a meal for you? Did you enjoy the book club's train trip last fall?
Both Danny and Barbie do many behind-the-scene jobs for the lake association, too, to keep our organization functioning.
Barbie has been treasurer for many years and collects our dues and pays our bills. And, she prepares an annual budget so we know where our money will go.
Danny has been chair of our nominating committee for some time, and is responsible for encouraging folks to serve as officers or board members. He also is the social sparkplug who has organized the fun group dinners we have enjoyed at local restaurants. Plus, Danny is one of the guys who manage the Carlin Lake boat landing for the rest of us.
I'm sure there are lots of other things the LaPeans do to help their neighbors, but since this great team never "blow their own horns," we won't hear about those.
Thanks for being such thoughtful, helpful neighbors and friends, Barbie and Danny! We appreciate all you do.
(Sorry about the long-hair photo, Barbie, but don't you both look happy?)
Nice post Carm! Danny and Barbie are always the first to step up to help, and it's nice to see them recognized for all they do!!! To add to that, they are just fun to be with!!! Thanks Barbie and Danny, you are great friends, and neighbors!!!

Barbie is my "Up North" sister; that makes Danny my "Up North" brother-in-law. No one could wish for more loving, giving family members! Thank you, Carm, for putting into words how we all feel about this wonderful couple.
