If you have missed this date, make sure you note that local elections will be held on April 4th for a new town chair and for our two town board members. This will be an important election, as we will be electing a new chairman for the first time in many years, since Jack Harrison will be retiring.
If you will not be in Presque Isle to vote, please make arrangements in the town office to get an absentee ballot.
Running for two seats on the town board are our neighbor Chuck Hayes, along with Cathy Weber, Barb Peck, and Carl Wolter.
A forum will be held on Monday, March 20, at 6:00 pm. Candidates will answer questions submitted by the community, either to a specific candidate or to the group of candidates. Before that date, submit your witten questions to Shelly at the library.
I'm sure specific questions will be asked about how these candidates feel about encouraging ATV traffic through town and about enforcing local zoning ordinances. Please submit questions for the forum, since many of your neighbors are out of town and not able to do so.
(If you have not made up your mind whom to vote for, any of your neighbors who live here full-time would be able to offer some input after the forum.)
