I will be interested if you agree. It seems to me that fall color this year is going faster, and looking less vibrant, than it has some other falls.
We had a very nice boat ride with Ann and Duanne on the lake yesterday, and most of the trees on the shoreline look mostly green. On the other hand, as I walk along Hwy P, I see that some of the maples that I usually think are the brightest have already lost most of their leaves.
So, I can't generalize about fall color, if you are hoping to get here on the best weekend. The TV announcer says Presque Isle is already past peak color, and I guess I concur----other than all the green trees on the shore that I just mentioned.
A friend at exercise offered an opinion that we had that spell of almost-80 degree days, making leaves dry up and curl up, rather than hanging around long enough to display color. For what it's worth---not an expert opinion!
The trees above are in our yard. The maple of the left is still bright; the one on the right has already lost many leaves.
The photo on the right is one of the colorful spots on the lake shore. Do you think these may still brighten up?
Had trouble managing my font size, as you can see---so threw in the towel!

This fall does seem unusual to me. I believe the leaves are falling more quickly because we have had so many windy days. Ramona
