Congratulations to Carl Watras, who announced his retirement this fall from his long career as a research limnologist with the Department of Natural Resources and the University of Wisconsin.
Carl's new title is Honorary Fellow, although I am pretty sure he is still willing to answer to just Carl!
He writes that he is looking forward to no more meetings and no more dealings with bureaucracy. But Carl will continue his field work out of the Trout Lake Station. And, I am sure he will continue to be the reliable source of water data for us here at Carlin Lake.
Good for you, Carl, for such a long and prestigious and valuable career!
(This photo----unrelated to news about Carl----is thanks to Cecil, of the spectacular sunrise we saw over the lake this morning.)
Congratulations to Carl. We are so happy to have you as a neighbor and lake mentor.
