Thoughts and photos from Karen Stocker---
I was looking out at the lake the other day while I was drinking my coffee and thinking about fall. It's a quieter season on and around Carlin Lake. Many people have headed home for the year, boats are coming out of the water, things have slowed down.
I watched the last leaf on a branch hang on stubbornly as leaves around it were falling in a sort of dance. That's how I usually feel. I want to hang onto summer, but once I embrace fall, I remember why I like it so much. This is one of my favorite times of the year up here. The colors are glorious and I'm reminded that there is great beauty in the stillness.
Photos of Cindy Stocker's dog Lisel, and two lovely views from the deck of the Stocker home.
Thanks very much, Karen!
